Mediation is a form of settlement negotiation conducted and assisted by an impartial attorney trained in the art of settling lawsuits and other disputes. Unlike Arbitration and other kinds of alternative dispute resolution, Mediation is non-adjudicatory. The mediator makes no findings of fact or law, whether binding or non-binding. The entire process is privileged and confidential under the laws of the State of Texas. The mediator my only report whether or not the case or dispute has settled or been resolved.

After thirty years of first chair jury trial experience and having participated in hundreds of mediations both large and small all over the State of Texas, Joe Luce has expanded his practice to now include providing complete mediation services, serving as an attorney ad litem as well as a receiver, discovery master or arbitrator upon request. His vast trial work experience provides Joe with an invaluable basis to draw upon as a mediator not only regarding the subject matter of the cases he is mediating, but also understanding how litigation works, the various relationships and dynamics that exist in disputes, including interactions with insurance companies and a wealth of strategies to undertake toward a successful resolution. Having done insurance defense and commercial litigation as both plaintiff and defense counsel, Joe provides the essence of what an unbiased, independent mediator is required to bring to the table.

Situated in Mid-Town just south of the Downtown Business District, CSJ offices provide a comfortable yet professional setting for a mediation with free parking directly across Fannin. Each caucus room will have snacks and drinks available, Wi-Fi and a telephone. For full day mediations, lunch will be provided from one of the many fine restaurants located in the Mid-Town area. Should your mediation have four or more parties or be mass litigation, suitable alternative locations are available. If needed, Joe is available to travel around the country to accommodate the various scheduling needs of those involved in large, multi-party litigation.
